Hyperinflation

This video clip opens with two E. coli bacteria cells. We watch the two become four, then eight, then sixteen, until the entire screen is filled with hundreds of them. As they multiply, the voice-over says:

"Like these E. coli bacteria multiplying, hyperinflation just grows--and grows, and grows--exponentially. Not all E. coli is bad for you. Nor is inflation necessarily a bad thing. But certain strains of E. coli can kill you, and hyperinflation can destroy an economy. Medicines suffice to fight an E. coli infection. But to wrestle hyperinflation to a halt, you need more radical measures." [By now the screen is full of bacteria, and, as the words "radical measures" are heard, the whole image shatters like glass into a hundred pieces.]
